An Indonesion Abroad...
With the hospitality industry rapidly growing and becoming a more widely accepted industry, there is a growing need for hospitality workers around the world. Singapore, for instance, has a huge shortage of hospitality workers and they are exported workers from Malaysia. Indonesia's DepNaKer are pushing for local workers to be eligible to be imported abroad. What do you think, us as future hospitality workers, need to do to make sure we will be recognized as qualified hospitality workers abroad? what general skills and abilities are necessities?

I would say that the hospitality workers in Indonesia must giving some skill demonstration, promotion or media to increase the qualified hospitality worker abroad. because maybe some countries wouldn't know that the Indonesian are providing hospitality worker and as future the career for hospitality industry is also booming
ReplyDeleteIf the issue is qualified labor then English is a must as the universal language. I personally believe in hospitality industry the necessary traits are leadership, attitudes, and discipline. Other skills and abilities will come after. My point it is the matter of personalities.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Andrew. But beside demonstration and promotion, there is another way to make sure we will be recognized as qualified hospitality workers abroad. These are study harder and has good attitude. If we are a hard worker and have good attitude, everybody will believe in you. For ex: Ani from Indonesia is a hard worker and she has good attitude. Then, everybody will looking for she, Ani from Indonesia.
ReplyDeleteI think, as a hospitality workers wannabe, we have to show our ability in the industry. We have to prove the world that hospitality and tourism management industry is growing rapidly now in our country, so they will notice us as one of the international workers. Other than that, I agree with baruna, our personalities are so important in order to become success in this industry, so it also depends on us as a part of this industry.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Andrew.we had to show that we,also can work hard and have a good attitude (also a good personalities of course!).
ReplyDeleteI think that by showing good personality will give an additional value for the employer to be more satisfy with our work.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of you.... Andrew's point is a strong valid point... but I believe we need to improve efficiency in our service in Indonesia... so be sure to work your little butts off when you go into the industry.... because we represent not only ourselves, but the entire country's reputation is questioned too...
